Clamshell Pouches a Collaboration with Primrose Fabrics

When Cinzia from Primose Fabrics asked me if I would like to collaborate with her again I immediately said yes!

Based in Italy she collaborates with talented illustrators from all over the world to create unique and SUPER sweet organic fabric collections. You know one of those fabric shops where you want to buy literally everything they stock? Well this is most certainly one of those.

Cinzia’s request was for me to make a Clamshell purse with the range Au Printemps. Spring has definitely come with this line. Featuring cute little bunnies, fresh spring flowers,  sweet cherries and fun days out. So inspiring!

I couldn’t wait to get started! I thought it be fun to make 2 pouches rather than just the one that she had asked for, I had been sent enough to do so and any excuse to work with this fabric that little bit longer!

So, with that in mind I made a small coin purse with 2 inch Clamshells and a medium sized one with 2.5 inch Clamshells. There are some really sweet fussy cutting opportunities in this as well some stunning blenders and that beautiful low volume grid.

The fabric is so soft and a dream to work with! Both purses were hand quilted with Aurifil 12wt thread. I think hand quilting and clamshells are a match made in heaven!

In my haste to get them to her, I completely forgot to take proper photos, she has kindly allowed me to use her images.
