It seems I’ve blinked another month has passed us by and we’re now in October with Halloween and Christmas rushing towards us!
September a month where the leaves are changing, the air is getting cooler but still warm enough to not have to layer up. I’ve never really been a fan of the cooler months but they are becoming more and more appealing. I will focus on the positives of this season. The warm snuggly jumpers, crisp leaves and big bowls of warm soup. Evenings under quilts watching something good surrounded by candles and a real feeling of Hygge. I will not focus on how with a young pre-schooler these relaxing days are a thing of the past and that now the rainy, cold days are inevitable she will be climbing the walls rather than running free in the garden.
It was a mixed bag of a month, I seemed to be rushing around here there and everywhere with not much time for anything hugely productive, and yet I was able to find my 9 best images from Instagram, so I couldn’t have been completely idle from my sewing.
A fair bit of hand-sewing and cross stitch this month, as you know it really is the perfect remedy for me, especially of an evening, when I can switch off from the craziness of the day.
I also finished a quilt for Mabel which I will be sharing with you very soon. I took part in a Beatrix Potter themed swap which you can read about here. I also got to try Aneela Hoey’s new pattern the 3 in 1 pouch which you can also read about here.
For my birthday back in July my mum got me the new Elizabeth Hartman pattern Swan Island and the quilt kit to go with it! I have not been able to bring myself to cut into it yet, but I have been wanting to make a new pillow cover for the lounge, so that combined with some linen and Liberty seemed a perfect match!
Of course the biggest thing about this month is my little baby turned 3! Can you believe it!? Motherhood is the best yet most hardest job I have ever done. She really is turning into a little girl now, the baby and toddler years are far behind us and she is well and truly a little pre-schooler. I feel so proud, yet sad my baby is not a baby anymore, it is definitely bittersweet!
I love September as, for us, the days are warming up and lengthening, the air is fresh and full of flowers, and we are shaking off the winter dust.
Looks like a busy and productive month for you. I still love and adore that grey stitched pouch in the top left of your collage š

Spring is by far my favourite season of the year! I wish I could spend 6 months in the northern hemisphere and 6 months in the southern! š
Thank you for the lovely comment on my bag š
