New Book: Thread Folk

Recently I have been poring over pictures of various types of hand-sewing like embroidery, Sashiko and Punch Needle embroidery (more about that one in another post!) As these searches often do they led me onto Amazon and all the lovely books available on these subjects.

I do love a good book, it is nice to see tutorials and videos online, but there is nothing like picking up a book and looking through it. I’m normally (most of the time) a fairly cautious spender, I will um and ah about things before I make a purchase, however this time it had me clicking checkout before I had taken a breath!

Thread Folk - Libby Moore

I am genuinely excited about this book. A beautiful hardcover with some seriously beautiful projects in it, I literally cannot wait to get started on something, deciding on what that will be first is going to be the hardest part!

The book includes 15 projects, 10 of which are hoop art and 5 that are aimed at clothing and homewares. Each stitch has full instructions and thread colour suggestions. What I think is a really smart idea is the patterns can be easily torn out for transferring onto fabric and there is a handy little cardboard envelope in the back to store them safely after! The author Libby Moore is new to me, but I am now following her on Instagram and am really enjoying her posts  which are so inspiring!

See below for a quick sneaky peek of whats in the book.

(I have not been paid or been provided the book for this review, this was bought with my own money and are my own views and opinions)

  1. Love the flip through preview of the book! That’s all I needed to know I’d love this book. Already had a feeling of course, but having a quick peek before buying is awesome. Thanks!!!
