The lovely and ever so talented Helen Phillips has just released a new book – Home Sweet Home Sewing, and I have had the wonderful privilege to receive an advanced copy from the publisher Tuva Publishing. Today is my turn on the book tour to share with you what I have made.

The book is packed with 17 of the sweetest projects, so sweet in fact you’ll struggle to pick which project to start first! I finally settled on the Little Deer Pattern. It has been a while since I last made a little softie, and I couldn’t resist the charm of this one!

You can guess who has snapped up this little cutie already, and claimed her as her own! My poor little love is quite poorly at the moment, so absolutely anything to help her smile. I have had to advise that little deer might only be good for decoration or gentle play, I’m not entirely sure I trust my sewing skills with this! 😆

In my mind there is something about a doll made with linen that just absolutely needs a pretty Liberty dress. The pattern in the book has 2 patchwork designs, however I decided to stick with the one print. I fell in love with this sweet forget me not print when I was searching through my stash, and I just had to let it shine on its own.

Of course little deer had to have Liberty ears too. Not forgetting some lace and pearly buttons.

I love adding little details to projects, especially when they involve a mix of Liberty and linen.

I hope you have enjoyed what I have made. Please check the tag on Instagram #homesweetsewingbook for more beautiful makes from the other talented makers on this book tour. Tomorrow we are off to @pamkittymorning.
