September round-up

My, don’t the days go quick!? I had fully intended for this to be written and published by at least the 2nd of October, but somehow we are on the 6th already!

September was a busy and slightly emotional month, what with Mabel starting school and turning 5! Despite that I did manage to squeeze in some makes too!

I developed a new passion for making Finch Bucket’s. One with the gorgeous New Dawn fabric and another which was a scrappy strawberry version.

I really took a lot of pleasure in slow stitching, in an attempt so slow my busy mind and body. Such a satisfying and rewarding hobby!

It’s hard to pick a favourite make for the month, it is possibly the strawberry bucket bag, however I really am in love with the Hudson bag I made with the new collection Idyllic by Minki Kim. This was a fun challenge, and the fabric is so beautiful it is hard not to fall in love!

I started (another) quilt with some Beauty and the Beast fabric. This pattern is called Star Stream quilt and has been designed by my lovely friend Sally Davies aka @Chasing.tigers, and I highly recommend you go check it out, especially if you’re a fan of Saw Tooth stars and HST’s (half square triangles). It reminds me I really must finish it up this month! I am so close.

My final (sewing) make of the month was this sweet little tub, a pattern by Rosie Taylor Crafts. I impressed myself with the fact I actually managed to join in another SAL on time! I cut into some precious Tasha Noel Simple Sweetness fabric that I’ve been hoarding for some time. It has become a little holder for all of little miss’s hairbands.

Such a fun make, I plan to make a few more, to organise not just her bits and bobs, but mine too!

Speaking of little miss I have to share the birthday cake I made for her. Her request this year was a Branch from Trolls cake, not when he was sad but when he changes colour. I know being a DIY cake it would be absoultely no match on the amazing Poppy Trolls cake we had made for her last year, but I gave it my best shot.

If in doubt smother it with chocolate and sprinkles, am I right!?

I can’t leave without telling you the newest collection of fabric that has just arrived in the shop. Daydream by Patty Basemi for AGF is too sweet for words! Bundles and individual yardage are available here now.

  1. Very pretty. I did hardly anything in September. I finished a lap quilt which will be a christmas present, I also made a baby quilt. Now I really need to think about christmas presents. x

    1. That sounds a productive month to me 😊 I have 3 quilts that I need to finish quilting but it’s my least favourite part! I always leave Christmas makes to the last minute, I better be more organised this year! X
