Today I’m sharing what I made with the super cute collection Unicorn Kingdom, designed by Shawn Wallace for Riley Blake Designs.
Like most 5 year olds my daughter loves unicorns, so I knew right away who I was making for! In fact I’m not sure I would have been forgiven if I hadn’t!
I took inspiration from her school book bag. Her current uniform book bag is a rather boring and uninspiring brown colour! Not the best colour for a pink unicorn, rainbow loving little girl!

I’m not sure if she would be allowed to use these as a book bag for school, but it doesn’t mean they won’t go to waste. They will be great when the library re-opens, or even to take with her when she goes round to see Nanny.

I used heavy interfacing, so they will keep any books, or even drawings nice and safe with no fear of getting bent!

I made 2 different sized book bag/ cases. One which can hold A4 sized pieces of paper or books, and a smaller one, which would be perfect for her little learning to read books.

I also couldn’t resist making some fun sparkly name tags, after being inspired from last week’s Glitta Pouch challenge, I wasn’t quite ready to pack away the glitter!

Theses are super quick and super addictive, I can see myself making many more!!

I love the webbing I’ve used for the handle, rainbow perfection!

Shock, horror no stripy binding here! Instead I went with fabric from the collection, and I love how it blends it all together.

These were really fun to make, and even better quick too! I think they would make a nice little birthday gift for a little girl, of course they don’t have to be exclusively for school books, I think they would be handy to hold sewing supplies, especially those pesky orphan blocks.

Oh my, these are adorable. x
