Christopher Thompson – AKA The Tattooed Quilter has a new fabric collection coming out with Riley Blake Designs and it is soooo pretty! Featuring pretty florals, cute bunnies (what sold it for me!) and inspirational texts the possibilities are endless.
I knew when I first saw the fabric I wanted to make something that would fit beautifully into a new baby’s room and decided a Divided Basket – a pattern by Noodleheadwould be perfect, and a great way to showcase a few of the fabrics in one project!
I had to make the bunnies a feature of the basket, they come in three colourways pink, aqua and navy. This is me though so of course it had to be pink!
This is a project I really enjoyed making. I know I enjoyed it as I found myself smiling whilst making it rather than gritting my teeth and holding my breath! Anyone else forget to breathe when they’re concentrating on something tricky!??
I’m a huge fan of a low volume print and these roses are no exception, there is something about them that reminds me of a Rennie Mackintosh rose which I really love! Again they come in different colourways if you prefer a bolder print.
I chose a beautiful bold floral print for the interior again suiting my more low volume palette but there is also a gorgeous navy and aqua variation.
I really enjoy seeing script on fabric and this has to be my new favourite. I love all the positive and inspirational messages on there.
I think it would make a lovely gift hamper for a new mum, filled with goodies and treats for both mother and baby.
